Training Philosophy

Hi, I’m Lydia, the trainer behind Tenderleigh Dog Training.

I work with a wide range of dog breeds, but with a background rooted in the gundog world, I specialise in training gundog breeds such as Labradors, Spaniels, and HPRs — whether you're working them in the field or simply enjoying them as family pets.

At Tenderleigh, my training combines obedience, gundog foundations, games, and breed-specific outlets to bring out the best in your dog. My approach is largely reward-based, using positive, motivating techniques that encourage lasting behavioural change. The result? A happier, more responsive dog — and a more enjoyable life for both of you.

Where I Train:

I offer in-person dog training across Rutland, Lincolnshire, and surrounding areas, with sessions held in several locations:

• A secure, private training field at Gunthorpe Hall in Oakham

• Farm permission at Keisby, just outside Bourne

• Farm permission at Pickworth, just outside Stamford

• Home visits in the Oakham, Bourne and Stamford Area.
